Covid and travel discussion

Cheers, haven't been affected (yet?) directly, but a couple of colleagues from work got their flat flooded and or cannot leave their village, because streets and bridges in the area went missing...
Love Cologne since 1980s when I lived near Dusseldorf. My best wishes to all those affected. Great people in that part of Germany.

Didnt know this was happening on monday

BRITS are facing a race against time to fly home before the Balearic Islands are added to the UK's amber list on Monday.

Holidaymakers are desperate as any non-vaccinated British travellers will have to quarantine for 10 days after returning from the islands

Yeah was announced on Wednesday from the latest traffic light review bollocks.
4am Monday is the arbitrary cut off time plucked out of thin air.

Lots more fun and games like that to come this summer (for the unjabbed anyway)

We looked at Cornwall, but they wanted £1200 for a caravan for a week and it was a drive to the coast, never been to Jersey before looking forward to it, we booked it through Jersey Travel, flights are with Jet2
Superb frothy.. we’ve just this minute booked a coastal cottage in Anglesey took ages to find somewhere as we’ve got two dogs as well . It’s a little bit different for us as normally westay in the uk at the whitehouse Filey or Corfu.
So I’ve comprised with the family. Going to do a day surprise day trip to Dublin. But definitely fancy jersey with its history.
holidays are a luxury for most so I never take anything for granted.
Enjoy jersey mate .

If people can't do the time don't do the beach...and yes I'm aware some have had holidays moved on but, booking now for certainly this summer...get what you get, don't fucking moan. This from usually a 3 holiday a year man.

We are going to Jersey next Saturday for a week, hotel B&B and flights £680 for the two of us, both double jabbed and up to yet all we have to do is a free PCR test when we arrive, no need to Quarantine until your results come through so fingers crossed nothing changes this week
Not sure where you are staying but if you get a chance Portelet beach and then Portelet pub after the climb up the stairs after the beach is a great day out.

Top restaurants littered all over the island and more pubs per square mile than anywhere in uk I believe - think I’ve been to most ;-)

spent 30 years there so kniw it all pretty well if you want to pm me for any tips - either way enjoy

Jersey is lovely , spent a week there at a conference years ago , have a good time

We did a week on Anglesey a couple of years ago with the Grandkids, brilliant holiday and we were lucky with the weather, we stayed at Rhos Neigr would definitely go back, if you've got Children with you go to the Butterfly nature park near the Bridge, our lot loved it
