Visit Cornwall says only people who have booked should visit as cases nearly double in a week.

I was reading about that festival outbreak earlier. I thought it was difficult to catch outdoors!!

Yeah, concerning that 4700 new cases could be linked to an outdoor festival.
Though I guess a younger demographic likely being only single jabbed at best won't have helped things.

New review tomorrow, though not expecting much movement tbh.

Current rumours include....

Jamaica, Montenegro and Morocco to go red.
Turkey, Egypt, Dom Rep and Maldives to go amber.
Poland to go green.

All should be revealed by this time tomorrow night.

The actual traffic light system is due to be formally reviewed by 1st October (apparently).
Look forward to seeing what more chaos and damage they can cause.

Well i’m thoroughly enjoying zakynthos a beautiful island & we feel totally safe, face masks in shops hand sanitiser everywhere in bars just a few more days left of this glorious sunshine is the only prob :-(

I hear that although bars can open until the very early hours, it's still seated only policy once in venues, is this being strictly enforced do you know?

Messaged the Indie bar on Facebook and was pleased to get a reply earlier saying they are open.

I leave sunday aft mate,bars are allowed to stay open till 5am, but music is banned after 12am,different for the strip obv but the police have been very strict down the strip, shut it down completely three times this week due to it being “to busy”hope you have a fantastic time mate we have, we love zante :)

Hi all, apologies if this has been covered elsewhere but we're in a flap.

We are due to fly to Portugal this week, both fully vaxxed but with one of us having 1 dose of the Z002 AZ batch (which shows Vexveria on the app, but allegedly is a Covishield batch which Portugal doesn't recognize?!)

Did anyone here with the same AZ batch vaccine get to Porto OK or has been to Portugal since the latest travel requirements? And were there any issues when out there? So much conflicting information!

people who have been abroad; have you found it quit easy and straightforward to get the tests abroad and then at home? are the costs still as high as they were?

My grandma is going to stay with her daughter in Spain for a month from next week. Any recommendations on where to get the test from for her to come home? Do you get them over in Spain or do you get them before and take them with you?

I'd imagine that they were all in very close proximity with others over a long period of time. Indoor and outdoor.

I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure Portugal now accepts the Indian one? What I will say is I doubt the Portuguese border guards are looking that closely for specific batch numbers, I've been this year and got family and colleagues over there now and they have barely glanced at the paperwork, in some cases people have just had their passport checked.

Hopefully flying out next week but waiting till tomorrows review before booking

As it stands Portugal is one of the few EU members not accepting Covishield at the moment.

What's really annoying is that on further investigation, is that no Indian made vaccines have been administered in the UK...whether that stacks up at Portuguese immigration is anyone's guess

Ahh apologies cant be any more help.

On a side note, I know restaurants require proof of vaccination at weekends. Are they accepting the NHS app over there does anyone know?

Unless you're going off grid, then it's very easy to arrange the test you need when abroad.
Lots of hotels also offer either an in-house testing service or can call a doctor to come and do it for a small charge.
Price is generally around 25 EUR, give or take, for an antigen test.

I would say that if you're going somewhere like rural France then you'd be better off taking an antigen test with you.
If you're in any kind of tourism area across Spain, Greece, Portugal etc then you can get one out there easy enough (and cheaper)

The cheapest 'day 2' PCR test I found for when I come back from Zante in early September was with someone called Expert Medicals, and cost £28.
Their reviews are shite, but the reviews for all Covid test companies will be shite cos it's a cowboy operation.
I have my reference number, will take the test when I get home and post it off.....after that I'm not bothered, I've done my bit and if it goes AWOL or whatever then so be it.

The costs are coming down, certainly since May when a load of us went to Porto, but its all a bit of a joke, particularly the day 2 PCR test.

The Indie bar I've mentioned a few times only opens from 11pm so only an hour of tunes doesn't sound too good haha

It'll all be fun and games, will head to some of the nice beach bars if the police deem the strip too busy.

Cheers mate we will do, yeah on the strip music is allowed later but like i said police are really strict on the numbers & overcrowding, i’ve watched both city games in the horizon beach bar i’ll be in their for the arsenal game sat lunch its a quality bar mate well worth a look

Cheers for the recommendation.....we didn't eat/drink in Horizon last year but we deffo clocked it as we ate/drank in the bar next door, Balsamico (also very nice, huge food portions, and we hired a boat from them too).

We'll be needing somewhere to watch the games on Sunday so will head down that way.

Shame we don't arrive until the evening and will miss the Arsenal game :(

So if you were to come home on Sunday, you can test at any time from 00.00 on Thursday. Is that right? I am sure I read originally the test had to be within 72 hours of the expected flight landing time. So if I was due to land at 3pm Sunday, I would test from 3pm on Thursday.

The return to UK test has always been anytime in the 3 days before you fly.
People often mix up outbound test requirements (often 72 hours if applicable) with the inbound test requirements (which remains 3 full days).....the Porto travel thread still gives me nightmares.

Your example is correct; a flight returning to the UK on a Sunday means you can get tested anytime on the Thursday, Friday or Saturday.....or even the Sunday if its a later flight.
