Covid outbreak | Pep is back, new positive cases (pg 39)

He confirms players have tested positive but not necessarily new cases. He goes on to explain they need two negative tests in two days to return, and that players have returned positive tests, but doesn't state if these are new or existing cases.

Tabloid journalist looking for an angle.
In fairness to him, the below is from the City homepage. What he's said is a bit confusing, which is good, stops Tuchel planning for the team that will be available

Article is still up from Jack Gaughan, says he's positive but expected back in the dugout for Chelsea if he has no symptoms.

That would suggest his self-isolation period is up before Chelsea regardless of test result.
I'm seriously confused with the rules now, if he's still showing positive he won't be allowed near anyone surely?

Yeah "some people are positive again" is ambiguous and doesn't make a good headline.
It just means that someone who tested positive a few days back is still showing as positive. It's the new normal, can't see where the confusion is.

The confusion is with the headline writers stating new cases.

No you can release early if you test negative but if you test positive afterwards you’re fine as that can happen.

The pcr you can be positive still but the advice is to test at home with lateral flows , if you have two negatives you are negative and end isolation
