Either that or we give Delap a chance. We are getting over the line in games but given the chances we create and the possession we have it should be more comfortable.
Delay does not appear ready to make the step up yet. Today is an ideal opportunity to give him a chance but Pep is likely to play Jesus if he goes with a recognised striker.
It seems to me strange that we have these young players in the squad but they rarely get a chance. It has taken Foden years to get regular starts. If Delap is not good enough or not yet ready to play the role of a reserve when sometimes both other players in his position are out surely somebody else should play that role. But I guess that's not the way Pep sees things and is more likely to play Kyle Walker as centre forward than bring in a stop gap or start Delap.
But who knows maybe today is the day Delap gets another chance.

I have to admit in seeing both sides of the argument. Pep plays a certain way and a lot of the time I'm not sure he sees an out and out striker as part of it. If that striker is Aguero of course then it's different as when he's fit he is world class. Looking at our games without one we are still creating the chances, sometimes very good ones, but missing them. Sterling is a big worry as he appears to have slipped back to his form under Pellegrini, nervous, unsure and terrified in front of goal. I don't agree on Foden he is still only 20 and he has had plenty of appearances. I think because he burst into prominence so young with the England youths winning the world cup everyone expected him to walk into the first team, but it's a huge step up as many of that side are finding.

I guess Pep sees Delap a lot in training and he is still raw. For a 17 year old though he is a big confident lump and I just think in tight games his physical presence could unsettle tight defences.

Pep on Aguero:

“The important thing is when we texted him during the first three or four days he struggled, he felt so tired but today he sent a message to the backroom staff to say he feels much better.”
