COVID Watch

City , as far as I know , don't fly to London games....logistically it makes no sense , unless its London City Airport. Occasionally they use the train for Wembley trips, but mainly , the team coach . I was on the M56 last week coming towards Manchester and passed the team coach heading towards Southampton, the day before the game.
City have used the same hotel in London for a few years now, for games at Arsenal, Spurs and West Ham , because of its location .

These are the facts . What we don't know is how footballers are really behaving when on the road or even at home etc. The link with Gabriel of Arsenal with other City players in this hotel, particularly our own Gabriel and fellow players before the Arsenal game is unlikely to be revealed.
I think this is a massive wake up call for football at the highest level. Its City today , but it will continue with other clubs.

Football is only being played in this country and others , because the broadcasters are the puppet masters and own football , and contracts cant be broken. There's 2000 delusional Scousers on alternate weeks who think they can create an atmosphere , every week , being told they've escaped the second wave.

Meanwhile in the real world , (and the previous chap who posted a great deal of sense ) football continues to live in Covid denial whilst 500 people die each day and every hospital is genuinely struggling . I think its time football takes a long look at itself as we go up to Tier 5/National lockdown. Watch this space ......

Despite the reality of all this, best wishes to every City fan and their loved ones in these difficult times

seems a bit of a loose source.

hopefully get clarity from the tests tomorrow and wish the players well. Im sure many nervous for their families
I would agree with that. Also negative in the last test means nothing if bubble was compromised. They could very well test positive in next two days.

Will the rest of the squad not be self isolating seeing as they’ve been in such close contact with those who have tested positive?

I went to City v Watford 2 seasons ago and arrived lunch time at Watford Junction (evening kick off). The team bus was at the station waiting for the train with the team on it.

Common sense would suggest given the number of players and staff who have now tested positive ( surely more to come ) those players who were in close contact with those who tested positive would have to self isolate.

Here in oz its 14 days for close contacts and their close contacts.

While we have many advantages given our geographical location and our population spread we appear to be taking it more seriously than others despite some overreach in response and mistakes made which is why our death rates and numbers are much lower than most.

It gets back to the individual and the sacrifices they are prepared to make.

Sheer madness given how close players to each others pockets during the week if City are forced to play any games in the next two weeks at minimum.

Be amazed if more players and staff don't become positive in the coming days.

No use them hiding cases as playing players who are positive will only spread the virus amongst clubs at a much higher rate that otherwise.

They do often use the train for London games, and they often use a hotel on the edge of Watford (The Grove), but there certainly wouldn't be a train back after the game against Arsenal last week.

Good opening post and anybody with common sense would know that with this virus the way the games were being played despite the best of protocols players and staff were going to obtain the virus.

The season should be placed on hold for a number of weeks now and the government step in with its healgh advice and tell the leagues its off for the time being.

The spread and health risk if anything is worse than it was when the league was suspended in the first wave.

Chelsea game going to be interesting...

the faux outrage in the media is sadly all too predictable. There’s been precedent set ffs. Where were all the tears when Newcastle had an outbreak?
