Craig "Shez" Shennan (sadly passed today 01/06)

thoughts are with him and the family. Cancer is a horrible disease and we've all no doubt had family having problems with this B*stard disease.

Always enjoyed seeing him on Ian Cheesemans podcast.

I hope for however long Craig is here that he is painfree.
Quite ironic that, as Cheeseman was the one who grassed on the Blues that blagged their way into the ground at the Moscow game, as mentioned in the @wearethesouthstand post above.

Chucked some cash in. Knew him from the Wendover bus. Top top man, I was only a late teenager on that bus but I looked up to him and what it meant to him to be a blue. Before I ever met him he was on my bedroom wall for years as a kid. He was in a City magazine I think it was, face painted with "I'd rather be dead than red" written on him. It was like meeting a celebrity when I first met him, never told him he was on my bedroom wall because it probably would have sounded a bit weird haha.

Love to him and his family x
Yes he was late 90s

He was one of the Faroes trawler twelve- organising the fishermen to let the City fans use the boat from Shetland. They were rescued obviously and the story became big news.

Moscow away he was one of a handful of Blues who got in despite the ban but who were chucked out by City’s own security team.

Millwall away with away fans banned he got in - obviously.

Dortmund friendly years ago got adopted by a load of Germans who took him to a karaoke bar, 12 hours solid 8pm til 8am then straight on a plane.

Thousands of other stories too.

Shez is an example of what a home and away Blue is , done it all seen it all, talks to everyone, a character a personality- held down 4 or 5 jobs at one time, postie, scrap metal, gardening, delivery driver, anything and everything to get the funds together to watch City.

A level of fanatical support that is hard to beat.

But every day with a smile on his face.

And an amazing role model for his kids.
Nailed it mate, Shez in a nutshell.

Great post.

I saw him this afternoon 5 til 6. Only spoke for 1 minute because he was sleeping. He had eaten a massive kebab today and polished it off ! First food in couple of days. He has had 4/5 jobs at the same time to pay for City. Before and after his postie shift. One job was pany’s takeaway sale moor delivery driver. The owner heard today and brought shez in a kebab.

A hero of mine standing on the old kippax with him and many a trip on the levenshulme blues bus back in the day with billy black robbo Geoff and all the other amazing Blues.

He knows all the blues are behind him.
An absolute legend of a man. Was with Leve Blues for a while which was ran from the Con Club on Barlow Road (Martin Buster Phillips was our assigned player and to be fair he had his 21st with us). Shez was the star of an end of season trip we had to Ostend!!

I've been looked after by Shez since joining the Chicken Hut (Wythenshawe City Supporters Club) as a nipper, he is honestly one of the finest human beings I've had the privilege to call my friend. I've been up & down the country with him, through thick and thin, to me he epitomises what a blue should be, gallows humour whilst always positive, time for everyone around him & a truly warm, lovely human being - he is the standard.

This has hit me & many others in the local community hard, whether through City, or his work colleagues in the Post Office & the people he delivered to on his rounds. Before this bastard disease, he hadn't missed a game, home, away, Europe, pre-season, CWC - ANYTHING, since the mid 1990's. He even got in when we played CSKA & couldn't take fans in, see Millwall in 2001 in their end for the same, the man bleeds City blue. I posted this of him earlier before prior to Gillingham in '99:

I'm gutted for his lovely daughter who he's raised as a loving father, taking her all over the world with him watching City, they are the best of friends, I'm gutted for the people whose life he's impacted & I'm gutted that I am losing one of my best pals. I was with him earlier & he was in good spirits prior to Mike Summerbee visiting, he's also had messages from Jack Grealish (you can see that video on the twitter thread above the Gillingham video) & many other City players, we are a family. If the squad gave 1/10th of the passion he's given this club, they'd win the lot every season for the rest of time.

Shez - I love you mate, CTWD & beyond.
