Sad news, condolences to his friends & family. RIP Shez.
Words fail me Joe. You've done him proud with that tribute.a Wythenshawe mad blue all my life I joined the Baguley and Brooklands supporters club as a young lad to meet like minded blues who loved our club.
Enter Shez, he was not just City royalty but Wythenshawe royalty due to his various post rounds where he was adored by all of those he encountered. I was in awe of his dedication to City, he hadn’t missed a game since Chelsea away around 1995, that includes pre-season games and abroad. He to me was the standard bearer, what separated him though, is that no matter how moody an away day could get with alcohol involved, trips abroad or City making a pigs ear of things on the pitch… I never heard him say a bad word about anything or anyone, like wise, I’ve never met any blue, red or person who has encountered him say anything but lovely things about him, he was one of life’s characters that just brought positive energy wherever he went.
He followed our club like no one I’ve known, he began bringing his lovely daughter with him and they were inseparable, he took her all over the place and encouraged her, it was a beautiful relationship & to be frank, that’s what’s upsetting me the most right now. He took her to every single women’s game as well, well before that was the cool thing to do I might add, with all the misogynistic shite that went with it. He was a fucking diamond. He took me and many blues under his wing throughout the years & never ever expected anything in return, it was just his nature.
We can never replace him, he was one of a kind, I hope the club can do something for him. You didn’t deserve this Shez & its not fucking fair, I love you brother.
