I was absolutely certain that Kinnear would have been included in that list. I was, and still am, utterly dumbfounded at the decision to appoint him.

Perhaps no-one else wanted it! But, to see it from Newcastle's point of view, it was the kind of wild card appointment that can pay off. He'd take no shit and get some team ethos together.
