I think the umpires are erring on the side of caution, thinking the review will be chosen by the bowling side. Not right. There was one yesterday where England almost didn't review a plumb decision because they couldn't believe it hadn't been given first time and were starting to convince themselves the umpire had seen something obvious.

This is my concern for VAR in football.....

You can’t beat it. That was a fantastic spectacle and there was something in it for everyone. Sure, you can get boring matches but it’s the best sport in the world for me.

Brilliant test match, makes it a much better spectacle when the pitch isn't a road and it's a fair battle between batter and bowler. Stokes and Curran superb.
