Stokes is an unbelievable player, but he wouldn't get in the team if he couldn't bat. He barely bowls anymore. Having strong characters in a team is important, but you can't get in the team just being a good fielder and a leader.

If South Africa have to follow on would you enforce it especially there might be rain incoming? You wouldn’t want to bat last in this pitch Anne Chase anything over 150 when you dominated a game you don’t want to give South Africa any sniff.

Definitely enforce it. Get the job done. There's no guarantee that there won't be rain on the last day, either. It would be truly tragic if England didn't take this match now. One thing I will concede to the Aussies. When they've got their foot on a team's throat, they then throttle them to death. How many times over the years have we seen an England team have the opponents on the ropes only to let up and let the match slip away? Please god that mustn't happen after such a glorious performance from the whole team.

Botham was a great fielder with amazing hands. He was a match winner in every regard just like stokes. Very hard to compare careers when Stokes is roughly only half way thru his. But I would say he is slightly behind Botham in all areas at the moment. But that is no disrespect to Stokes. He is a great player and a match winner.A lot of talk comparing Stokes with Botham, Imran, Kapil Dev, Hadlee. The truth is he's a better batsman than all of them. They were all great test match bowlers who could bat.
In Kapil and Botham's case they would have got a game as a batsmen even if they couldn't bowl.
Stokes us a better fielder too. And he'd get a game even if he couldn't bat.
So more like Kallis in that regard.
