When England had Archer and Wood fit for Test matches the attack looked as good as any in world cricket. Lightening pace always gives you a fighting chance.I fear he will be lost to test Cricket and just play 20/20 and ODI from now on, I hope am wrong on this because going to places like Australia in the ashes you need 90mph bowlers

Not sure about from now on, if he is fit, he will be involved this summer. But given how little he has played in the last 3 years that tour down under looks a long way off. Pace attack will be rotated. Like you say we only need 1 of Wood/Archer in each game. Same with the seamers. Can't see Broad,Anderson,Robinson playing all 5.I don't think he makes the ashes squad in the summer ashes if Wood keeps fit, we all know the bowling line up in England, Anderson and Broad main attack then Wood Stokes Leach, plus I think we have a pink ball test match again so swing swing swing all the way in the summer ashes

The only way he doesn’t make the ashes squad is if he is injured because you don’t leave a bowler of his calibre at home..
No way the 2 old fellas play all 5 and its hard to see Wood doing so either. If fit he will be involved, possibly rotate with Wood. Anyway he's only bowled 4 overs so far, long way to go.I can if they are taking wickets and England winning ? I even think jack leach could miss a couple of test because we could go all out swing, Key for me will be Stokes fitness, can he bowl 7 or 8 over spells between the 30 to 60 over mark after the new ball has gone a bit soft.

I've no doubt they both want to, that's what makes them the legends they are. Whether their bodies will allow them is another matter. I reckon they'll rotate but we will see whar unfolds in the summer.both will play the first test if fit, then if they take wickets and win they stay in the team
it's defo jimmy's last ashes series, so will want to play all 5 test, pretty much the same for broad,
England never make big changes for the ashes squad unless we are getting thumped
