I don't know. It can work both ways. A team gets 450+ in their first innings and everyone thinks they're well on top only for the opposition to reply with 500 because the pitch is just totally dead.
Which is exactly what happened last time we played them over there and we got 470 and lost.

We need 600 on this pitch batting first.

Yep we need at least 550 that takes time out the game for India to bat to put us under pressure in our last innings.
 
its only a good start and the hard work starts tomorrow. england must not fall like a pack of cards if roots goes early
i agree with the others on this wicket 500/550 is the target then maybe the wicket will start to crumble on day 3 or 4

i get loads of shit on here ? but mainly because of my hate for root the captain. i think he is a good cricketer but not captain and gets lucky at times. am big enough to take the flack and rightly so at times ? but many others have questioned root being captain also
