just seen archer is out of the ashes ??? you could not make it up could you
the ECB golden boy poached from the west indies and paid a good salary in central contracts in all forms of the game.
what it means is anderson and broad will be our main attack again ?

four years ago they was finished and they laugh at us taking them. england lost the last ashes down under before Christmas in shocking style. we don't stand a chances and this series vs India should be fun with part time spinner root

even the groundsman have been order to produce seam up wickets without any sort of turn for the spinners
because india would field 3 spinners and beat us in 2 days

i may well turn to NFL this winter and watch the green day packers always loved the green and gold that big G badge

90+mph bowlers are always injured, that's just life.

England's pace bowling attack is up there with the best. It's not Hazlewood/Cummins/Starc but it's up there. Broad and Anderson are nowhere near done (7th and 8th ranked bowlers in the world), Stokes will be in Australia, Mark Wood will be good in Australian conditions and Ollie Robinson is looking decent.

The issue is the lack of a spinner to hold down an end or give them a break.

your missing the point ? down under its a all different ball game. first is the kookaburra ball. then the heat. then the wickets. swing does not happen after 10 overs and if your not 90mph its help yourself to the buffet

also you have to bend your back to get the bounce that is needed to take wickets or a very good spinners with a captain that sets the field right. having watch england since the last ashes down under we still have nothing to scare them with ? archer was our hopes of a chance. mark wood is fast but not much control and falls over all the time so england can not count on him

anderson and broad will play the first test down under unless one or both get injured
i would even say moeen ail will be brought back into the team and they love him down under a (walking duck)

root is a poor captain and a yes man to the ECB and you can bet your bottom dollar we take all the old guard again and come home with nothing but a good sun tan

i seen last week that the england players are looking to go on strike and boycott the ashes if they can not take the wife kids or girl friends or partners to the ashes

PLEASE ECB DO THE RIGHT THING AND HOLD YOUR GROUND AND BAN THEM

I know it's early but Lancs again struggling at Roseworth Terrace ground in Northumbrrland.. They've let Durham break records in their innings. Once again they've had the opposition under pressure at 171 for 6 only to let them finish on 327 for 6. The first time any team has scored over 300 on this ground.
And now batting again with a lack of urgency and they're 30 runs behind the DL score after 10 overs.
There appears to be no tactical nouse.

Edit - it looks like Croft has realised runs wins games

Edit again- Croft out, 61-2.

Lancs lose by 87. Very poor again today and tactically naive for the second game running. With 2 games left I can see a real struggle to finish top 3, especially with Essex as the last game.
