hahahahaha on the ropes ??

to win the toss then bat so poor then hope rain saves your bacon. so so many things wrong with england at test level and root as captain is one of them. look root is a great cricketer but as england captain he is not ? it should be taken away from him and just let him bat like he did yesterday freely.

england are in a right old mess with the ashes coming up. if i was root i get out now before the shit hits the fan
archer already out of the ashes. stokes is not right. wood is not good enough at test cricket. then the batting order is all over the place

papering over the cracks today with a draw because of the weather is just about the worst thing for me
nothing will be done or changed in the 2nd test and India will only get better and the spinners will come in and kill us

Not saying our batting isn't woeful, but he's clearly chucking it.
Honestly, sporting bodies always find a way around their own supposed rules.

Very good point. I was thinking of them as a unit and not how they would fit into the team. I remember Ian Botham talking about the great quartet of fast bowlers that the great West Indian team had,( none of them could bat by the way) and he was saying that he was asked about the balance of their team and the fact they had no spinner in the side, his answer was when would the spinner get a bowl as the four quicks were too busy bowling teams out and winning games. Not saying that the England four would be as good as them but my word they would exciting, if only one them was a all rounder.
