It worked, whoever did it. Raining at Nottingham and no cricket "for a while", according to the commentators. 4 or 5 hours would be the minimum that England will be hoping for. The Indians need another 157 to win. Could they get them in two and a half hours/35 overs? They'd need to go into ODI mode.

Archer hasn’t produced in test cricket barring his first game against the Aussies.

I know, but he has that star quality when he’s bowling quick. He has obviously been hampered by this stress fracture of his elbow, which has been coming on for a while. I also feel that if England could get Mark Wood fit enough to play test cricket he would also be a massive asset. Having two bowlers who can crank it up to 95 miles an hours gives a team a huge advantage.

I presume you mean "no fielding restrictions"? Which is very true. No inner circle. No leg side wides. No free hits for no balls. It'd be very difficult to score at 5+ an over for 30+ overs.

Might be wrong on this, but I don’t think England have ever fielded Anderson, Archer, Broad, and Wood in the same team, and that is not a result of ‘rotation’. One could make a case for them being England’s most attacking quartet, yet Root has never had the opportunity to harness their talents.
