Ok, India obviously can't win this, but they can get a draw. After playing so well, that would be downright tragic. But we've seen it, by God have we seen it over the years with England. They get their foot on the opponent's neck, and then they bloody well take it off again. If England were to collapse this evening and only add about seventy more runs, I think it would annoy me a lot more than if they'd been outplayed by India right from the off. I pray that it doesn't happen.
As for Joe, what a summer he's having! With the bat. As for his captaincy, well, it's not all that. But let's see how this pans out. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt for the minute.

No, that is not so. At one point, anyone would have said England were nailed on to win the last test.
Well; from memory, India were in effect 170-odd for 8 in their second innings, with comfortably over a day to go. A great position for England to have them in. But this could be potentially an even stronger position. Say, possibly 400 ahead at lunch tomorrow.

Any merit in declaring this evening and having a quick 15-20 minute dart at them? I appreciate there's a risk; they bat well, get 450 and skittle us out for under 150 again.
