What's TMS?

Test Match Special. Cricket coverage on the BBC.

They seem to hire eloquent, knowledgeable, folk that are not just able to convey thoughts from brain to mouth but in a truly entertaining manner. Hence, people will listen for hours.

Not for everyone mind.

or rather the BBC waste your license fee employing a bunch of old fogies so that the old farts who couldn't get over the advance of television and want to listen to the aforementioned fogies blabber on about the latest victoria sponge that mrs smith has baked them and compare one of England's greatest ever batsman to a team riddled with match fixers, because that's cutting edge insight, and feel they have some worth.

-- Aug 3rd, '13, 16:28 --

Botham blabbering on just because Nasser likes a City player and Harris shuts him up.
He was taking the piss out of him, banter if you will.

bit rich seeing as he'd sucked up to all the ex-rags for the 15 minutes previous.

Re: ********The Ashes********

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart talks to the BBC at tea. The England stopper used to play for Worcestershire when he was younger: 'I'm a little bit too tall to be a wicketkeeper really. There is a correlation between that and goalkeeping, obviously with the catching, but with being a little bit bigger you struggle to bend down all day.

'I was a left-arm quick, but don't play any more because I had to knock it on the head with the football. I'm still an avid watcher.

'The City boys just want to come and watch cricket. It's funny trying to explain it to the foreign lads who come over. I try, but the perception is that it's a ridiculous sport. But when you break it down, the lads who have been here a while get it. Vincent Kompany likes to think he's cultured and listens to what I'm saying.'
