Hameed is fine. Probably just knackered from 2 days in the field.

He's essentially in his 5th test match and averaging over 30 since coming back in the side. More importantly for this England side, he can at least see out the new ball more often than not.

He's got a lot of improvement to do but he's not England's problem. It's the other one.

Having seen that Burns wicket, it's very obvious that the bat is coming down from the direction of 1st or 2nd slip. I'd think that any movement towards the offside would be very likely to draw edges as he's not playing down the line. Probably be fine if the Aussies would bowl at leg stump for him, or not have a left-arm bowler.

I was one when he first came in that why bother bringing him back but he has something about him when batting yeah he got out to a poor shot but he was playing positive he just has to quickly learn to pick the right balls.

I feel though bowling wise till Broad and Anderson retire from test cricket we can’t do a rebuild of sorts.
