Yep it’s no brainer giving it to butler! What want to know is has he packed in test match cricket? Or are ecb not going to pick him again!

He is that talented he should be in this test side him like stokes Root and Bairstow can we a match on there own…

The trouble is he doesn’t seem to play much red ball cricket.
I love watching him bat in limited overs though.

To be fair, none of them play much red ball cricket, save for the test matches. I’d love to see him open for England. Mind you, I’ve advocated that for a few years now. He’d get out for a few low scores but when he batted until lunch, or even tea, the scoreboard would be wizzing round. Like Warner for the Aussies or Sehwag used to do for India.

I’m really not too sure he has the right technique to open in test matches.
White ball is totally different as I expect you know.
Don’t get me wrong I love watching Buttler in full flow.
And re @waspish above it’s a chicken and egg situation.
Anyway he’s in the Lancs team for tomorrow but no Livingstone I presume:-)
