Perhaps I've been asleep like Rip van Winkle, but just caught up on why Jonny Bairstow isn't on this tour.
Had no idea that golf could be such a savage game…

Like others, quite astounded by that score. Went to bed thinking oh well, the wheels have to come off Bazball some time. Apparently, not yet.

Reading some comments on cricket info, because Root's century is going to be overlooked by Brook's innings, and a question asked is which test innings in history are overshadowed
One comment was "August 14th 1948, Arthur Morris scored 196 runs and his innings is forgotten about as someone was out for a duck"

Buggered up his test average as well.

De Villiers and Pietersen were the 2 comparisons mentioned in this piece. Was reading it before play and thought maybe it was a bit early for this level of hype. 3 consecutive fours of Southee early on and I changed my mind. Wake up this morning and I'm fully onboard.

Tougher tests to come and all that but he is currently averaging over 100 at around a run a ball while leaving a few more out there chasing even quicker runs setting up declarations. Pretty special.
