Stokes is so much The Man in this team that I’ve wondered, for the umpteenth time, whether he shouldn’t be captain. Probably not. Might spoil his game.
Don't know if already mentioned. but Warren Hegg has been doing a weekly podcast since lockdown with some of the great's from Lancashire's past. Aptly titled Lancashire legends, all are on youtube and well worth a watch for any lancs fans.
I ca believe it. The late Harry Pilling told how he and Sullivan were once having a pee in a pub toilet when a man started to make advances to Sullivan. "Sully hit him just once and the guy was flat out on the floor", said Harry. No messing about with JS.Apologies for quoting myself, a sign of madness no doubt, but today's podcast has been with the main man, Sir Clive Lloyd.
Clive told a funny story, about himself and John Sullivan winning a game vs Yorkshire.
As they were walking off, some Yorkshireman shouted you Lancastrian's are a dirty lot.
John Sullivan turned round and said what did you say?
The Yorkshireman repeated the insult, only for Sullivan to spark him with a single right hander.
Unfortunately for the Yorkshireman, he was probably unaware that John Sullivan was not only a first class cricketer, but also an ABA boxing champion :)
If you get what we had yesterday, and it generally travels west to east, you won't. It drizzled all day yesterday, from sometime prior to 6:30 am until well into the evening, around 10-ish.Looks like not going to get much play today looking ages weather forecast.
They're great aren't they. As are nasser and key. I love watching cricket on sky, the segments they do in the intervals are always brilliant too. Does make you think about how shit football coverage is.Just watched that piece on the mechanics of fast bowling with Ian Bishop and Michael Holding. Fascinating hearing them talking about finger position, straight or bent front leg, bowling from wide on the crease. I could listen to those fellas all day.
Apparently SIbley's century was slower than any of Boycott's.
It also had least fours (4) apart from one by Thorpe in Lahore.
The only one I don't like is Nick Knight. Never warmed to himThey're great aren't they. As are nasser and key. I love watching cricket on sky, the segments they do in the intervals are always brilliant too. Does make you think about how shit football coverage is.
He’s too busy sitting on the fence. The only one I don't like is Nick Knight. Never warmed to him
Hang on....Draw looking nailed on here. Hard to see England picking up 17 wickets in the remaining time, even if they did manage to enforce the follow on (also looking unlikely).
