Don't know if already mentioned. but Warren Hegg has been doing a weekly podcast since lockdown with some of the great's from Lancashire's past. Aptly titled Lancashire legends, all are on youtube and well worth a watch for any lancs fans.

Apologies for quoting myself, a sign of madness no doubt, but today's podcast has been with the main man, Sir Clive Lloyd.

Clive told a funny story, about himself and John Sullivan winning a game vs Yorkshire.

As they were walking off, some Yorkshireman shouted you Lancastrian's are a dirty lot.

John Sullivan turned round and said what did you say?

The Yorkshireman repeated the insult, only for Sullivan to spark him with a single right hander.

Unfortunately for the Yorkshireman, he was probably unaware that John Sullivan was not only a first class cricketer, but also an ABA boxing champion :)

Good story, that.

I never saw any cricketer move quite like Sir Clive. He moved like a panther. He was a tall man, who moved with deceptive speed in the field. I once saw him run someone out, at Buxton, in a Sunday match. The quick single looked on. I’m pretty sure that Lloyd was fielding at cover point. Three loping strides - like a panther - he reached down and threw in one fluid movement. Stumps shattered, and the batsman was stranded miles from the crease.

I ca believe it. The late Harry Pilling told how he and Sullivan were once having a pee in a pub toilet when a man started to make advances to Sullivan. "Sully hit him just once and the guy was flat out on the floor", said Harry. No messing about with JS.

england lost the chance of winning this test with slow play and slow scoring and also root being a shit captain ? everybody knew today rain was forecast and even a possible washout today so england batted on and on and getting over 450 ? clearly no need for getting that score with the ball swinging and the ball spinning 350 was well enough

but why did root not review the LBW when it clearly hit the foot first what did you have to lose ? the bowler was 100% and the ball pitched in line and the batter was defending so it had to be pads first ? poor again from root and the weather and the review leaves england little to no chance of winning

Just watched that piece on the mechanics of fast bowling with Ian Bishop and Michael Holding. Fascinating hearing them talking about finger position, straight or bent front leg, bowling from wide on the crease. I could listen to those fellas all day.
They're great aren't they. As are nasser and key. I love watching cricket on sky, the segments they do in the intervals are always brilliant too. Does make you think about how shit football coverage is.

Another wicket down Woakes.

Oh and Root great captaincy having Stokes bowl 11 overs on the spin looks like he is injured.
