Quite surprised to see that six players have previously made a double century on their test debut. Wouldn't have expected that many. Even more surprising that I haven't heard of any of them apart from — very vaguely — Rowe. I'm no expert on cricket but I would have expected to have heard of some.

Stokes got a bad injury in his first game of the IPL, but reading between the lines I think the much spoken about "rotation policy" always meant the IPL players won't feature in this series - Buttler, Woakes, Curran, Moeen, Bairstow were in the India squad and all not played for weeks since the IPL finished but none of them as far as I know are even turning out for their county - Malan playing for Yorkshire today though, although I don't think he got a ball in the IPL.
