Should be fun early doors can't afford to bat more than 10 overs. Quick runs gives the option of a 2nd new ball late on (Manchester weather permitting). With the Windies one nil up we should be able to defend anything above 270 so it's up to us to set the game up. Fully expecting Sibley to be dead batting everything going into the shipping forecast now I've said that.

70 or 80 quick runs in the morning. Then have 60-70 overs at the Windies.
Aren’t there supposedly 98 overs to be bowled tomorrow?

If true, England’s lead should eclipse 300 quite sometime before lunch, which would give them at least 80 overs to bowl out the West Indies.

go bananas until midday. contrary to others, i do believe this pitch has enough life, there's a slim chance of victory here
I’d say quite a high chance.

There’s realistically 96 overs left (98 but with two lost to change at the end of the English innings), I think they’ll bat 8 overs, score 50-60 and then have two new balls, leaving themselves around 8 with the second new ball. I think there’s plenty in this pitch.

i think they'll bat 12 ovs, Root is a bit conservative in that repsect but it'd be great to see them stop a touch earlier.

What's the forecast for today? Arsing it down here but i'm north Lancs so might be different at OT.
Should be fine, the longer the day goes on the better it gets.

We need to play this like a 20/20, get the lead to 260-270 and then go for it.
