I think England know this but stone and archer are injured, wood is starting so not sure what you want them to do?broad back in and steam coming out of his ears after being dropped twice and england losing the ashes
that sounds about right ? clueless fuckers
broad is not the answer and will not make a stain on the test match down under
you need raw pace of 90mph or more not 80mph and swing ?

Bowling the right lengths would be a start! We don't have the express pace with Stone and Archer injured. Wood's a quick but his ball release is low, and in Australia having a higher release tends to be more effective. That's why Robinson was tipped to do well despite him being a medium quick rather than express pace.
Anderson was threatening when he bowled a bit fuller. We've bowled short, trying to be aggressive but with the ball coming through at 80mph rather than 90 the Aussies can pull it and play it all day. When they bowl at us at 90mph we're not used to the height the ball comes at us. We needed to take a lesson out of India's books and bowl the right lines and lengths consistently. But when we can't field or bat it's largely irrelevant!
Tut tut - extras are due a big unHave England ever played a 5 match test series without scoring 300 once? Because I can't see this shower managing it.
we must have other bowlers that can bowl near the 90mph or over and not swing ?
look at Mitchell Johnson ? his length and lines was all over the place at the start of his career and the barmy army took him apart ? but he worked on his game and coming back and was magic
its pace that scares the batsman down under because of the uneven bounce on a good length. its can kick up and next thing its chest high and now time to adjust. believe me NO batsman like 90mph coming down at you ? not even the aussies ? you are sat waiting to bat knowing its not going to be easy and that doubt placed in the mindset is the killer
anderson and broad will take wickets on any sort of pitch. but down under the swing is little to none. once you lose the new ball after 20 overs its hard for anderson and broad to get wickets.
if we had archer and stone bang in form and in shape then anderson or broad would be in the game all the time because batsman fear pace. so they could be 2 or 3 down when anderson or broad is given the ball
england have never really gone and looked for pace bowlers over swing its just not england and the ECB make up
we should take a leaf out of the aussies and find 4 or 5 bowlers with raw pace and work hard on his game and action then the lengths and line will come later
We should train up 4 or 5 world class spinners for sub-continent tours, and throw in a few opening batsmen as well…
Sadly, we just don’t have the talent. But I get what you’re saying in the sense that we’re not adequately set up to nurture it to test level.
get cricket back in school normal street kids with fire in there bellies and hunger to want to reach the topi think the talent is there its just about nurturing it and working with them right through the youth levels and on to county cricket. there must be lads at around 16 or 17 and about 6ft,5 or bigger that can bowl fast ? yes he's only got pace but that's what you want and work on the rest
the same with spin bowling get young lads spinning the ball. ok the wrist and fingers may need time develop but just doing the motions and building your bowling arm and hand will benefit from doing it over and over again
the ECB is still a closed shop and stuck in its ways and money and what schools you went to or your dad was a good cricketer ? get cricket back in school normal street kids with fire in there bellies and hunger to want to reach the top
I'll give it 20 minutes....Dont know if Ive got the stomach for another England batting collapse
Beat the World Test Champions by 8 wickets in their own backyard and with arguably their 2 best players missing. Not just a big win but surely one of the most sensational wins ever! Was going to stay up for the start of the Test, but the rain delay might scupper that.
In other news, Bangladesh on the verge of beating New Zealand. Big win for them, that.
A stunning win, runs throughout the side in first winnings responding to a 300+ NZ total. Great to see.Beat the World Test Champions by 8 wickets in their own backyard and with arguably their 2 best players missing. Not just a big win but surely one of the most sensational wins ever!
