I heard afterwards that he's ruled himself out of bowling. Maybe he'll try a bit of spin!

I wonder if not bowling is acceptance that it's not going to be possible in the future. Seems strange that it's good enough to bat/field but not to bowl if the operation was successful.
Have you bowled as fast as you can? The amount of force that goes through your legs is immense.

No Anderson. We’re playing one fast bowler in Wood that will only bowl 10 overs a day!

yeah, it's a strange lineup and offers little change-up other than Woods at one end, It can get very difficult bowling on flat wickets, I would have picked another seem/swing bowler in Jimmy Anderson if full fit because his lines and lengths are spot on and you know what you getting from jimmy,

it sounds like a high-scoring draw before a ball is bowled, But we know how badly England can be against spin, it's always Joe Root who can hold up an end and bat long and the rest fall like a pack of cards

I’m still sceptical that we will make 300 in an innings in any of the 5 tests.

Guess it depends on how much the pitches spin.

Even if they don’t, India’s pace attack is better than ours anyway.

Like most test matches, it depends on the toss and that first morning of the test, there is always something in the wicket first thing being under the covers and fresh, I am with you on the England players other than Root that can bat facing good spinners, Getting 300 will be a hard slog, but please England don't just dangle the bat and try to defend, If you're going to lose your wicket then you might as well go trying to score,

Test cricket batting is best when the tempo matches what the conditions and state of the ball dictates.

100% defence and you’ll lose; 100% attack and you’ll lose.

It’s knowing when and how quickly to change from 90% defence with the new ball to 90% attacking when the ball is soft and the bowlers are tired.

Bazball has gone more attacking than probably wise to win consistently, but it was better to watch than Root’s team in the West Indies.

You can be very clever at batting spin in India and let the ball score for you, it's all in the wrist and timing and your stance, With the dry outfield you can score very quickly, But you must put the bad balls away and don't find a fielder or cough up your wicket,

if you're not mentally right they will quickly find you out and work you over, even on the walk to the wicket you have to show you are ready for a fight, I think that's why Joe Root does well over there, he's worked them out and always walks out with a smile and a look of am backing my technique
