The wicket that killed us was Pope. Duckett going after lunch… it happens. Pope needed to just see out 5-10 overs as the guy who was in and settled, and we’d have gotten to that 30 over mark where the ball gets softer and stops moving so much.
Instead he threw his wicket away and we’d had 2 fresh batsmen against Australia with their tails up, they brought Starc back because they knew it was a key spell.
Just like yesterday as soon as you get past 30 overs the ball stopped moving and Atkinson and Carse put on 50. If we’d been 3 down when we got there not 7, this game would have gone very differently.
