Back in the day an awful lot of cricketers were rather rotund

Trying to remember who it was who said that they made their one day (40 or 50 over) debut for Lancs and Jack Simmons, who later became chairman of Lancs, at the break was doing the rounds in the changing room with a pad and pencil
Simmons was a portly fellow and as he approached the young lad, he was thinking "fuck, they're all having a bet on the outcome of the match"
Simmons then reached him and said "right, what do you want from the chippy?"

Proper weird team. They can be completely dogshit or blow teams away on a match by match basis

They've been like that for years. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if they go deep in the world cup or they could lose all their group games. Consistently inconsistent

They got away to a flyer this evening. But, for some reason (mentality?), they crumbled. 158 needed by England. If Buttler and/or Bairstow get motoring for 9 or 10 overs, the game could be as good as over.

Bairstow bats at 4 in T20's. Buttler and Phil Salt open. If Salt gets going it could be all over within 15 overs. He's also a blue

With some of the teams in the world cup it wouldn't surprise me if a top 8 team scored 300.

Mongolia actually did it last year against Nepal 314/4.

The highest score by a top 8 team is Afghanistan vs Ireland 278/3
