You’d have to say it’s advantage England at the moment. Batting last on this pitch will be very difficult.

Great first day for England. Battled through a very difficult pitch and managed to get a decent score in the end. It wasn't particularly threatening for our bowlers with the new ball, but 3 wickets down and more will happen for our bowlers tomorrow. I'd expect a first innings lead and then it's about trying to force Pakistan to have a chase of 200+. It's going to be horrible batting last on this, and they're also a fragile team that will struggle to survive and score runs in a chase like that.

England had to hold their nerve with the new ball being hard and still hard to grip, Leach lines were all over the place and it maybe was down to the ball, Having them 73/3 at stumps is good and Rehan Ahmed could be key tomorrow with a old ball.


But again, for the life of me, why did England agree to play on this wicket? They used giant fans and patio heaters to dry the wicket. If England did this sort of thing for a test match, the ICC would be all over the ECB. It's not good enough when you are now playing for world-ranking points.
