Honestly the one positive I have about the series is that Australia ARENT better than England.

England have had control of both matches multiple times and thrown it away with stupid ego-driven mistakes. Aus have been really error prone and rattled. Their top order has been shocking considering their previous form.

If England just dial down the Bazball 10% they can definitely win the next 3 tests.
It's so frustrating, we lost the last test in New Zealand by 1 run after we declared 1st innings with Root 150 not out, you'd think they would learn from their mistakes.

Unfortunately they are better than us. In English conditions we've generally just had the edge over them in the past 20 years but most of the those series have been competitive. Our record Down Under on the other hand is pitiful. We don't even really compete when we're in Australia and in the last 3 series away from home we're 13-0 down in test matches. Makes for horrific reading.

We'd get thrashed down under but that would be mainly down to the bowling attack.

I honestly believe every player and team should have that mentality.
It’s ruining football. Diving, feigning injury, time wasting, claiming everything is their ball, moving the ball further forward at set pieces, swearing at the officials… football is nowhere fucking near as good as it should be because of all this shit. I despise all of that part of the game. Just shows every player who does it up to be weak and that they aren’t good enough to win without it.

If I didn’t come from Manchester and didn’t have City, say I lived in some random town with no footy team, I wouldn’t bother watching football. It’s really just a game for tarts, cheats and cunts.

I agree with some of what you say the probkem is Khawaja,Smith and Labuschange always look like they have moved in,England have Root and a few flashy 40s although Duckett has surprised.Starc,Cummins and Hazlewood are better than our pace attack which is why it will be 5 nil.
If we had Wood,Stone and Archer may have been a different outcome.

Disagree slightly, England are only losing the series because of their own stupidity. It should be 1-1 at the worst. I mean who the fuck declares on day 1 of an ashes series. Absolutely idiotic. Agree with the rest though.
Thats the problem though trying to be too clever. At 188 for one a session of normal old fashioned test cricket was required if they had done that we may have been chasing 180 to 240.

Totally agree.
We bowled so badly on Day 1 at Lords, we deserve to be 2 down, BUT having been given the best of the batting conditions we had a chance.
At 188-1 the message should have been clear. Lets get to close 2 down at worst. We went gung-ho and lost the middle order handing the Aussies the initiative.
From 188-1 we should never have been giving them a 97 run lead.

Have you seen our record against them at lords? By the Christ it’s woeful

Yes mate, I did hear it mentioned a few times. Was it 2 victories since the 20's? Pathetic. Can't just be the pitch that. More like the very welcoming atmosphere the toffs at Lord's give them. Happy for us to roll over to the Aussies and have our belly tickled. You don't beat the Aussies like that as they'll bully you.

Think one of the pivotal moments in the 2005 Ashes (although we lost that first test) was Harmison nailing Ponting with a bouncer. It was a statement that we'd finally grown a pair and you aren't going to walk over us this time, you've been doing that for too long.

Also the Aussies best bowler Glen McGrath got injured and was out for the rest of the series . The Aussies had a far better bowling attack in 2005 than they do now by a country mile .
