Those Head runs last night look abit annoying now, should still get over the line but fully expecting us to be 7 or 8 down.

Read what I said. He got a couple of decent scores in 1 test, as I said, but if you think 28 is decent over 35 tests we strongly disagree.
It's been what we've has since struass tho , untill there is an alternative it wont chance , unless he finds the mentality in which case were winning

No it doesn’t, Steve Smith and Joe Root are widely considered two of the best batsmen ever to play the game.
Yes, it says the standard of batting in this test has been pretty poor, not smart enough against good bowling (bar the odd exception).

As I said earlier in the thread, I think a lot of the batting in the series as a whole has been poor, yes some outstanding innings, but not enough on either side really.

Crawley gets criticism because he nearly always gets out playing a stupid shot, rather than getting a good ball, the one that got Ali was a good ball for instance, both Root and Crawley gave their wickets away by poor choices.

I don’t care what his career average is, the fact he averaged 10 or something in 2021 doesn’t mean anything to the present. I care that his average in this series is higher than Smith, Warner, Labushagne, Bairstow, Pope, Brook (before this innings).

Any other team you'd say we're in a comfortable position.

Our own discipline will make the difference here. We have a bizarre obsession with throwing wickets away. Don't think Australia have been all that dangerous this morning, and yet we've lost four wickets in a session.

I was there yesterday and while that was a bit frustrating to see Head score those runs, I don’t think we could’ve asked much more from the 25 overs bowled. 6 Australian wickets and England 27-0 at close was as good as anyone could’ve realistically hoped for when play finally got underway.
