I’d expect Archer and Atkinson to come in for Carse and Tongue. I would also play Cook instead of Woakes but I don’t see that happening.

They won’t drop a batter it be 2/3 bowlers changes Curran archer maybe the leggy as well
It's not good enough!

I was once a big fan of Crawley, but he's too inconsistent. He's only had 55 tests to show what he can do.

I do think the main problem is the bowling, but I'm sick to death of being 1 down before we've even gone out to bat.

I would drop Crawley and pope but am going of what stokes and Mcallum will do always backing the batters no matter how poor they are! Just look how after getting 60 odd they were all praising him! Think they like the tall guy small guy one left handed on right handed! If they consistently got a good partnership of over 75 that’s not bad if one goes on to get a ton

Time up for Crawley and Pope and as i have said b4 Woakes,Carse and Tongue should be nowhere near any England side and they hopefully wont be when Atkinson,Wood and Archer are fit. They wont make 5 changes as we know so Pope is in for another 10 tests then he will be under pressure and then get a ton to save himself.

Archer and Atkinson?
Wow. Now that's a risk. They've hardly bowled a ball; in Archer's case for 4 years!
I know archer has bowled about 20 overs in the county four day game but has Atkinson bowled since he has been back from injury? Maybe they’ll just adding to the squad and just making one change archer for Carse

I don't see them making multiple changes that weren't planned before the series. The seam bowlers may need a rest though.
Bringing in multiple recovering bowlers at the same time seems to be too much of a risk.

Did you see that catch Lauren Bell made?

Holy shit.. she's quite an athlete..

I wouldn't be able to grab that at all and she did! (sadly the momentum carried her out and it was a 6)

But what a catch!!
No pal, didn’t see that, but sounds like a great game. From what I recall she’s pretty tall isn’t she, so I can imagine it was spectacular.

For the women’s match at Old Trafford on Saturday got reduced due to rain to 8 over a side though still came out on top. Interesting that the chase calculation for Lancs went up from 47 to 52, presumably due to coming off for rain after only 5 overs. Also learnt for the first time that 3 overs a side was the minimum to constitute a match!

It's crazy to think we're nearing the Ashes series and we still have no clue about who our best bowling attack is and who we take down under and give them a game, Right Now, it's looking 5.0 to the Aussies, we can not take 20 wickets or have anybody that can bowl 90mph or over and a spinner than can hold one end up so we can rotate the bowlers at one end,

It's so the ECB's way of sticking their heads in the sand and picking the players that are useless outside of the UK
We don't have pace bowlers who can stay fit long enough, so we just don't bother to produce anymore or find out why they are injured all the time,

(Zak Crawley)*
Ben Duckett
Ollie Pope
Joe Root
Harry Brook
Ben Stokes (c), Captain
Jamie Smith (wk), Wicket Keeper
(Chris Woakes)*
(Brydon Carse)*
(Josh Tongue)*
(Shoaib Bashir)*

Poor *

Half of that squad for the last test is not good enough, and the whole of the bowling Attack is poor and shocking
I think Jamie Smith (wk) is a good player, Ben Duckett, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes (c) are nailed on to play in the Ashes, the rest should be watching from home like me

I didn't think Atkinson had, but I stand to be corrected.
The bowling attack is too predictable.

I like Woakes but there needs to be cloud cover for him.
Carse. They said how well he bowled on Saturday morning, but I just saw him going at 5s.
Tongue. Now he's got a yard but I'm not convinced he knows where it's going.
Bashir. Got some potential but he's never test class spinner. Somerset don't want him and neither do Gloucestershire!

I would have dropped woakes in last test match and played Curran who would have been good on that surface also bats well and think woakes has a good record at lords

Totally agree.
Bowling at Lords is a 'skill' in itself. You need knowhow, that's why South Africa got Broad working with their bowlers.

England XI for third Test against India: Ben Duckett, Zak Crawley, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes (captain), Jamie Smith, Chris Woakes, Brydon Carse, Jofra Archer, Shoaib Bashir.

Archer in for Tounge. Thought there'd be more changes than this
