Just seen that Cook catch (it wasn't that easy, actually). And I have to ask myself, why on earth does Bumrah fall for that? Why aren't tail enders content to simply stay in their lane, be the handmaiden to the guy who's shepherding their whole team towards victory, blocking everything that looks suspicious, not wafting at anything that's a bit too wide, and getting the odd single here and there? Otherwise being very happy to bat out maidens and let the run-getter get back on strike?
It just seems like the ego takes over with batsmen. Bumrah seemed to decide, “Fuck it, I'm going to whack this for six and say a big fuck you to England”. It was never on, that shot.

Same reason top order batsmen throw their wicket away, loss of concentration. Its what separates the best from the rest and tbf to Bumrah he more than did his bit by lasting over 50 balls as he's a proper rabbit

It's perfect conditions to just dead bat everything and not score in fairness, the balls like a satsuma at this point and while the pitch has a bit of variable bounce it's slow as shit

They've added 20 odd since Bumrah was out, so shows how tough it feels. We've been there with Stokes/Leach at Headingley - even 10 runs feels a mile away and there's always more drama.
