Yep sadly, if they get to 15 they only have to give back half the ticket price back.

Glad they didn't get their wish.
The ECB have got central insurance for all the England home games, but it can go up massively next year with too many pay-outs.

Lancashire had a day similar to today hosting an ODI, the fans where in and they made more money as people had more time to spend the money. When it is bad rain and no one turns up at all, staying in Manchester centre drinking, it really costs them.

I reckon 15-30 overs tomorrow for a half refund, and no day 5 tickets were put on sale.`

It is no wonder the grounds look empty this year, the price for an adult at Blackpool CC tomorrow was £40, now reduced to £35.

Those bowlers are pretty good on this deck but it’s there length consistency I’m impressed with! Be great if we can keep our bowlers fit for a long time too

If games are basically finished within three days, fitness won’t be an immediate issue. When the sun shines and the games stretch to 5 days on batter-friendly strips, however, I would expect these bowlers to be less comfortable.

That said, New Zealand currently seem to have a peculiar difficulty batting against England, and I’m not convinced that Pakistan will be a sterner test. The tour to South Africa should be more challenging and then the anniversary match in Melbourne next March.

Think this summer should still see a few get their chance to shine.

Carry on like we are and it’ll come down a lot more. Doesn’t help with all these central contracts as the best players never represent their counties. Everything geared to England and one day slogs.

Surrey v Hampshire in the Championship started today at the Oval. Surrey 85-2 at lunch.

I appreciate that the game has been scheduled into an already congested calendar, but starting a Championship game with 50% of it potentially overlapping with the first summer Test seven miles away seems a bit odd.

Clearly, the pitch wasn't fit for purpose. 40 wickets in a little over two days tells a tale. And only two half centuries in those 40 wickets. You can't beat an even contest between bat and ball. But, if the game is going to be weighted in favour of one element or the other (bat or ball), which would you rather watch; a game where each side posts 450+,and the pitch acting like tarmac, and which grinds out to a draw, or this type of game?
