He is rob key’s mate and seemingly well liked within the England dressing room. It’s always been a bit cliquey and no doubt Crawley will continue to get picked

If the series is to be tight as this match has been so far, then you can understand why the Umpires wanted to give it so long before they announced their decision. Pity it stopped when it did, as the game felt to be coming to a mini-climax.

Have you looked at Crawleys scores? He is shit, got no mentality or technique whatsoever. IF he had some stoicism at least he’d have one positive attribute. His attitude, and seemingly yours too, is that if the conditions are tough you just hand your bat outside the off stump like a limp fucking dick. Of course the conditions were tough but he didn’t have the physical or mental fortitude to overcome them, and he never will. It’s a shame as I am sure he is a nice bloke

Have a fucking look at Crawleys technique, mentality and his scored. It’s because we are playing a good side that we need good batsmen and strong mentality. Crawley is/has neither, but yes he played like he was shit scared of them. We need runs and stoicism not excuses. Just look at his scores since he got 267 early in his career, which was clearly a blip

Here's a stat for you. 11 wins in 13.

Tells me that Stokes and McCullum are a better judge of mentality and technique than you I or anybody else on this thread.

For clarity I'm not bigging up Crawley here I just don't see an alternative. Events are still unfolding but right now I'd rather have Bairstow to come in at 7 than be a sacrificial lamb in those conditions
