These 2 are showing more sense than a number of the batters did.
Honestly, it gets a lot of criticism but playing more defensively I think this is exactly the kind of innings where we would have meekly ended up dragging ourselves to 200. Being on the front foot has turned that 200 into 270.
They got 279 once but it wasn't enough :)Biggest 4th innings run chases at Edgebaston.
378 - England 2022
283 - South Africa 2008
211 - England 1999
157 - West Indies 1991
124 - England 2015
Australia need 278
No they just need to get the balance right. With all due respect you were saying similar things on day one , your frustration is not due to whats happened during the course of the test , just you don't like the bazball freedom , which ia fine nothing wrong with being more of a purist , it just shouldn't come as a suprise
I don’t dislike it but I don’t like seeing joe root running down the wicket when he is well set. That has never been his game and I think it’s a detriment to the team for root to play that wayWith all due respect you were saying similar things on day one , your frustration is not due to whats happened during the course of the test , just you don't like the bazball freedom , which ia fine nothing wrong with being more of a purist , it just shouldn't come as a suprise
Nah, not a cat in hell's.Any chance of getting to 275?...
....were....These 2 are showing more sense than a number of the batters did.
Yes ofc... I was refering to comments on day one, I completely get the way the team plays now and how they should on other continents , and to be fair for entertainment value I love itNo they just need to get the balance right.
Baz Ball isn't trying to hit every ball for 6. There is room to dial it in and they tried that today, Stokes and Bairstow both clammed up, stopped scoring and tried to get through some time before lunch.

Biased Aussie pricks doing my head in.Shut the fuck up telling us about what Australia need to do to win, in England, you out of place aussie woman
I get that , Root imho is a complete batsman , but to be fair, he has changed his game further since the introduction of bazball , and has been doing fairly well , he actualy seems to enjoy itI don’t dislike it but I don’t like seeing joe root running down the wicket when he is well set. That has never been his game and I think it’s a detriment to the team for root to play that way
