YepThis is exactly why I was so critical after Edgbaston. I really couldn’t give a toss about entertaining neutrals I want England to regain the ashes and wining that first test was going to be massive for whoever won it.

Sure, Bazball has its faults but England's win rate has increased hugely since it was introduced
scoring at 4 an over is more than enterprising imo!More enterprising than entertaining I’d say.
Each to their own but I feel after a few more defeats bazball won’t be seen as that entertaining. After all winning is the priority.

I'm all for being positive but England have been dreadful today. Worst I've seen them play in a long time. Everything is just too predictable on a pitch which should really help the seamers.Usual suspects in here moaning as usual when the going gets a little tough.
The same people who can barely offer a well done when England are playing well.
Beginning to think this is the day We've lost The Ashes. Already.

Agree on Jimmy but Broad still has lots to offer, don’t understand why we took tongue off when we had two new batsmen at the crease & he got the ball talking, as for Robinson I feel like screaming at the tv when he plods in at 79mph, rather see Root chucking some muck….god we miss Wood & ArcherStick a fork in us were done ?
Broad and Anderson are finished if they can not bowl at Lords and take wickets on the first morning.
I did fear for England going into the ashes with little test cricket and now it's showing, If we are not careful and make changes in the 3 other test matches the Aussies are going to whitewash us 5.0

To easy for them with the predictability of our bowling smith knows like Labuschagne where we want to get them out! Aussies bowlers on that pitch against our batters would had us 7/8 down now for 200!

I'm pretty sure they respect the Aussies and what they are - that doesn't mean you can't place faith in your own style of play. I felt Australia got away with it a bit in the last test and we should've won but for various mistakes in the field and an early declaration. This time round they're looking more comfortable but then again they have a great record at Lords against plenty of England sides that never played Bazball.it's the ashes we are playing here and not a sponsored series vs New Zealand or Ireland
