Let’s be honest, Bazball has worked, we have taken teams by surprise with our aggressive approach and over achieved in results by the approach and captaincy. The aussies have seen it coming though and are too fucking shrewd and too fucking good to fall for it. 320 for 3 lol, given our 2 openers and number 3 with a shoulder injury we will be an effective 20 for 3. They possess better batters, bowlers, fielders and wicket keeper than us. Sad but true

Edit fuck me while I was typing that we got 2 wickets lol

I know it's been pretty overcast here, but did they lose much time to weather? A bit this morning and the pitch invasion, but 73 overs at 6.10 looks very slow.
Do they get paid so much as standard/sloggit that the match fees don't matter to them?

I've not been paying attention, but 12 byes is a fair amount - anything Bairstow could have done about them?
And what's Pope done to himself?
Is it me, or is 11 no-balls far too high a figure in a day? That's near as dammit two extra overs. Along with 12 byes and 12 leg byes.

Both sides would have bowled. We just haven’t utilised the conditions and bowled really badly. I strongly suspect if we batted we would be bowling now anyways tbh
But I don’t get why. This pitch has more life in it than Birmingham did so Shirley it’s best to bowl last when the pitch will be like Port Stanley’s runway?

Someone gave the Aussies a ‘how to play cricket like England’ book?

For no-balls, definitely. Is it mainly just one or two of them responsible?
Not really bothered about leg byes, as they are rarely due to errors apart from bowling down the legside too far.
