He’s also being lined up for when Stokes gives up the captaincy.

That's a pretty uncommon approach - fine on true pitches, not likely to go so well on anything that's moving a bit.

Not just weak minded batting to what about the benefit of having a proper slow bowler in the side rather than 4 or 5 very similar seam bowlers? Also an Australian ball change, one of the tests in the last home ashes was turned in their favour by a changed ball that started swinging like Quentin fucking crisp

That’s our 3rd inside edge now. Good. They had about 7 inside edges that could have dragged on. Glad the lucks being shared around.
