Not sure that's been the case with Stokes for the past year, he tends to be aggressive and run down the pitch. I agree it hasn't been lost and would have taken the current situation at the start of today! Like I said though, no shame or harm in reading the situation and not playing into the most painfully obvious, last-ditch trap.
Sure. Always a moment in sports. Maybe they thought with Lyon out they should go fter the bowling. As you said, it hasn't been lost.

Only have access to TMS so spared that.
I'm evenly split. TMS at work Sky for the last 1 1/2 sessions. If the game is just drifting I'll just switch back to TMS but there's not been much of that so far .... much to the annoyance of Mrs PP !

Michael Vaughan is a miserable Yorkshire ****. It's like the old guard ( him) cannot accept the new way England play. Yes it is risky and yes it cost a few wickets today but plenty of runs were added in the process and the team are now in a solid position to go after the Aussies. I hope they make the twat eat his words.

Duckett on being asked the question: "Frustrated at seeing three of you go similarly in quick succession?:"

"I'm not sure how to answer that, I'm surprised about the question. We've played positive cricket for 12 months and we're certainly not going to change. If we get close or a lead, we're certainly in this game."

I still think Vaughan's aim in all things is to be in charge of English cricket. Anything goes that helps towards that end.

Is that not the default setting for all folk from Yorkshire?

SORRY, "YAAAAAAAAWKSHAAA".

The Australians have shown that they can be flexible with their tactics, but England seem to have one tactic and I'm not sure that will be enough across the series. As for this Test, it might be decided by Lyon's calf. Intriguing contest.

They do return to type when in a sticky situation and try to bounce the batsman out, Lyons's injury could be the key for England in winning this test, England batting last without Lyons bowling will be a hard workload for their quick bowlers if we are only chasing 200 to win

It would be a peculiar twist of fate if both sides played out the rest of the summer without their best spinner.

Pleased to hear that from Duckett. This England team have made Test cricket unmissable, with games shifting by the minute. At least they're giving themselves a chance to win every test; 18 months ago they were being hammered.
