Yeah these 2 need to see out the morning to even bring in anything but defeat as a possibility. Plus that would boil convict piss over that catch
 
Don't ever feel particularly confident at us chasing 250 never mind 370 or whatever it is. Stokes and Duckett's stand for the 5th wicket has given us a glimmer of hope. Nothing more.

Despise losing to these lot at anything but think that was a catch all day long by Starc. Hopefully that comes back to bite them in the arse.
 
Duckett appears incapable of leaving enough balls so will likely hole out, and Stokes doesn't appear to be in the physical or mental condition to bat all day. That just leaves Bairstow shepherding a longish tail. For the sake of the series it would be nice for England to win, but it's looking a tall order.

Yeah it was a catch but he didn't do the basics to complete it .... touch of Jonty Rhodes. You just dropped the Ashes mate is a bit of a longshot unfortunately:)
 
just saw that catch by the Aussies and why are they moaning ? part of the ball is touching the grass and not out,
Smith gotta away with one in the first innings and it's pretty much the same and was given out but clearly touching the grass

Good fightback from Duckett and Stoke, but once they take one or both then the rest will fold pretty quickly
 
That was a catch. He caught it, had a cup of tea and then rubbed it along the ground. However, pissing off cheating Aussies is something I can always agree with.
 
Has it been difficult to keep wicket on?
26 byes for England, 9 for Australia - in innings with barely any spin bowled where a keeper standing up at the stumps might be beaten.

In Pakistan, Stokes bowled a 7 over spell (I think) with every ball short. Obviously some of the reasoning is that the Pakistani batsmen are quite short, but it was to stop them having any scoring shots. Interesting that a good bowling attack can do the same to taller batsmen.
 
It's curious that ex-players from both sides thought it was okay initially.

The ruling seems sound though - it's akin to a fielder on the run taking the catch and then running over the boundary rope a step or two later.

It's piss poor from Starc. He's made the catch and is in control of it but instead of just keeping the ball up he's been a bit lazy I think. It's not the first one like that this series either.
