So the gap between the two teams isn't as big as the doom and gloomers have been suggesting right?
I've tried to be consistent in saying that the sides are fairly similar. Even if England collapsed from here, one would be hard pushed to say the Australians have outplayed them, and that's not taking the controversial decision into account.

Wasn't directed at you mate ;) but some of the knee jerk comments have been pathetic lol

Probably the kiss of death, but whatever. At what point re runs needed does this partnership start getting the Aussies ever so slightly twitchy?

Nearly into double figures, the twitchyness isn't far off. Crowd are getting to them as well.

Need Stokes in though.

Double figures now the dream is real but im not getting carried away , riveting stuff whatever the outcome just like the first test

Be nice if someone could actually point out to the pundits, maybe via twitter the fact the umpire was handing over the cap to Green, surely this creates a different argument.
I don’t agree but apparently the onus is on both sides to agree it’s dead (former umpire) which takes it out of the umpire’s hands…I’d compare it to the batting team running a cheeky single when the fielders are passing the ball round to get it back to the baller, and the batter simply saying I never agreed to a dead ball

All the Aussies had to do was call Bairstow back . They didn’t the rest is history.

Aussies blew their morals up, needlessly, awfully. A tiny depression and shame enters each of them. An uncertainty. The crowd, the moment, definitely heavily against them. Plus, those bowlers will be feeling all the work involved in delivering all that short stuff.

England win is on for me.

I agree, but there are plenty examples of such decisions in cricket, and sometimes the captain is too caught up in the moment to make the decision that is right for the game as a whole. That is why the Third Umpire's role should be expanded.
