I've got no stats to back this up, but over the years (and I'm talking about the last thirty or so) I have the strong impression that we drop more catches against the Aussies than any other team! It's probably false.
But the impression is a lasting one mainly, I think, because when we drop catches against other teams, they don't necessarily go on to punish us. But the number of times I've seen us drop Australian batsman when they weren't even into double figures who then went on to make half-centuries and centuries — well, as I say, it's a strong and extremely irritating impression. And I'm using the politest language I can.

I think the point being made is about simple dropped catches. The bowlers have been excellent but the wicket keeping and slip catching not - Marsh and Head have scored 49 between them (excluding extras) since each was dropped. They could have been less than 100 for 6, rather than 147 for 4. Those dropped catches have hugely impacted on the momentum of the match; anyone thinking otherwise is probably up there with Wenger as a specialist in failure
