Only the foolish were predicting a big series win (3-0, 3-1 etc). It was never going to be easy. But gifting them games is infuriating. If they'd had to play out of their skins to beat us, that's one thing. But they haven't. We've handed them those first two tests.
I wouldn't disagree with that at all , the comments I'm refering to, however, suggest that we are getting walked over and beaten by an innings in each game, and they couldn't be further from the truth

It's fine margins. But in those fine margins, they have the edge. Game management, in particular. We seem intent on implementing T20 mode all the time, when there's no need for it. Sure, it's entertaining for the neutral. But I'm not neutral. And spells like that hour or so at Edgbaston (1st innings, was it?), where we tossed away 3 or 4 wickets with suicidal shot selections, really annoyed me. It arguably cost us that test. Brainless stuff. They think smarter than us. At least, they have so far in this series.

100% bazball has got us a long way from where we were , but we need to learn when to stick and when to twist

Yeah, I picked up on that too.

From memory, he reached as high as 153 kph yesterday (almost 97 mph!) and was consistently clocked at over 150 kph. Today he’s been more in the 144-147 kph range. It’s still quick but a noticeable drop off nonetheless.

It makes a massive difference.

You've got 40% more time to react to an 85mph ball than a 100mph ball.

So dropping 5mph makes things significantly easier, especially for top order batsmen who are used to facing high 80s all day. 90 doesn't change much for them, 95 they're rabbits in the headlights playing completely on instinct.

The tests so far have swung one way then another, but I can't help but feel the Aussies will pile on the runs here and we'll drift to an inevitable defeat. The pre-test hope and confidence has been destroyed!

Looks like we’re trying to get to the 25 over (ish) mark when the ball might start swinging/reversing, it was about that time for the Aussies so fingers crossed

Following it on the BBC app, I get an air of inevitability about the outcome here. We really needed them 3 or 4 down at this stage, to have a chance. 56 runs added now since Warner fell. With seemingly no great dramas.
