I saw Tavare and Fowler grind out completion of centuries at the Oval vs NZ - almost exactly the same speed, and matched by Allan Lamb.

I remember it being sunny, and the excellent Hadlee bowling, but not much else. Cricinfo suggests under 200 runs in the day.

2 in 95 minutes is Leachian.

Looking at the India innings - all but the last one caught behind the wicket, I think (last man out hitting out). Tavare got a commentary mention for a two man catch - diving slip got a hand to one and effectively palmed it to the next man.

That pitch looks a bit bowler friendly which I rather have than a flat pitch

The Aussies are going to whitewash England in next winter's ashes If the wickets are anything like today's
Their Bowling Attack is still Strong and the wickets will offer bounce and they will be hard and dry.

England will need Wood and Archer fully fit for the 5 tests and the truth is I don't see it
Hampshire's John Turner is being tipped to be the next up-and-coming fast Bowler so lets get him in
