Those stats are better than I remembered to be fair, they should've definitely given him a bit longer. Especially considering some of the shite we've had in that top order over the years.
I agree that he should've been given more chances and would've loved to have seen him play more test matches but according to this article, part of that was a personal choice as he wanted to focus more on the shorter formats of the game. A bit odd because he initially dreamt of playing test cricket but in the end it didn't work out like that:

Very much this. In 2017 he said ""In order to get back into the test team, I’d have to give up white ball cricket to play County Championship – and that is not an option."

Seems a large element of playing T20 in India and Australia was more appealling that getting cold in England in April.

Latest score, Day 4 of 4:
India A 557 & 223/2
Eng Lions 587
Hmm. Waste of time methinks.

I saw an interview with Washington Sundar the other day, where he spoke briefly about his short time at Lancashire.

Mentioned thats within 1 week he went from playing at an IPL match in Ahmedabad in front of 100,000, to playing a one day game for Lancs in Cumbria. Made me laugh.

As for your point, given the amount of money in franchisee cricket nowadays, I really wouldn't begrudge any player who makes that decision

I posted this on this thread last April. I’m shamelessly repeating it, because it is one of my favourite Lancs memories from my teenage years. That said, I did subsequently look up Stephen Jeffries and he never got a FC century, so maybe it wasn’t him, or maybe it was a half century he hit.

I remember going to the first CC game of the season at the real OT sometime in the early/ mid 80s, I think, against Hampshire. There was hardly any play in the morning session and we left for Warwick Rd station early afternoon in a snowstorm. By the time we got to Piccadilly, the sun was out and by the time stumps were drawn, Stephen Jefferies had hit a century.

Late start due to Windies being caught in traffic my arse. They all looked bolloxed and knackered. Caught in a late morning after a late night more like. Fair play to them though, they are on tour and it happens and they got through the game

Both Lancs teams lost in the Blast. Jennings was going like train before he was out. We lost too many wickets when trying to accelerate and the run rate suffered.
The women’s team bowled poorly imho.

Not sure what the point of seeing if Liam Dawson is a good enough back up for Rashid. They’re both mid 30s and surely we need to be looking at younger options.
