Yeah the ball would deviated to the players tracks or the corners that you couldn't get to.

Think it was this one (well this was the one I had)

No. That's not it. You controlled the players going up and down in straight lines. It was battery powered. Looked a bit similar. Was tomy or something similar.

This is it! I have one in the loft which we bought for one of the kids, they loved it

Had both of these too - crossfire was deadly with those ball bearings if you lifted the gun

Heres another one we had one year, Ghost Train!

Ahh mammeries mammeries mammeries eh

Tell you what though and I am quite suprised by this

No mention of the legendry Subbuteo football game

All the toys listed in this thread are sadly all toast now except for the beautiful game Subbuteo

This game is not only popular but has world championships still held today and was invented in the roaring twenties.
Had two of them bought for me in the swinging sixties and I was the "Aguero of down our street"
Built for the game I was with fat thighs and a chubby index finger that allowed me to flick the players with both speed dexterity and extreme accuracy down the right flank

Watch this story of extreme passion in this serious and funny short film all about the great game.
Especially the hilareously dedicated and yet highly excitable jasparo at 9minutes 50seconds shot at at our hallowed ground

Changed my mind the johnny seven is now only a close second to the king of crimbo pressies
Cellurites I give you the fabulous Subbuteo

Sadly I had to put up with the five a side version :-(

Awesome. I didn't even realise they did a 5-a-side Subbuteo.

But this would have made my Christmas...

My mate had that subbeuteo 5 aside and he had the James Bond Thunderball game called underwater battle it's worth a fortune now. I remember getting subbeteo Angling (I shit you not) one year either Xmas or birthday. I had all the normal subeteo games football, rugby and cricket as well me and our kid spent hours playing them. We didn't have a table big enough though so we used to set it up on the floor. My mams mantlepiece in the living room was full of injured players stuck back together with areldite happy days.
