Crime on the rise / is society f*cked?

I’ve had my car broken into twice in a year now. Once outside my house last summer and this week parked in the northern quarter in broad daylight.

Both times the culprit didn’t even attempt to gain access or look to see if there was anything to steal. Just smashed a window for what I assume was purely for the hell of it.

It boils my piss that these scum just get away with shit like this knowing full well there will be no repercussions.

The police couldn’t give a fuck obviously.

It really does feel like this country is totally fucked and I’m at the point now where I don’t want to live here anymore. Britain is a horrible shit hole.
Place has gone to the dogs mate. I broke into the same fucker's car twice recently and the tight arse git didn't even leave any cash or valuables in the car either time, wasn't worth my while at all.

But they still have the cash pre inflation

They did but spent it all on covid, people being furloughed we will be paying that back for a long time to come. We are getting smashed with tax rises this April and council tax going up as well. We have a flat lining economy for the next five years so I wouldn’t be expecting to see splurges on public services and infrastructure.

The country is broke at the moment money wise so not exactly more resources putting more police on the street. We are in the middle of a cost of living crisis as well, there’s a lot of haves and have nots amongst the population, which means the more hard up of society will look to crime to make ends meet. Example being this scruff who got sent down for shooting a 9 year old girl in Liverpool. He was washing cars and working on fair grounds in North Wales before he decided to start dealing.
The United Kingdom, which has a $2.83 trillion GDP, is the sixth-largest economy in the world. In terms of GDP purchasing power parity, the UK is in the ninth spot with a GDP (PPP) of The UK is ranked 23rd for GDP per capita which is $42,558.

Out of the g7 economies which hasn’t returned to pre pandemic levels of growth? And which one of the g7 is performing the worse? Places like Poland will have better living standards than the U.K. soon.

If you go into hospital or if someone robs your house, do you feel the benefits of living in the sixth largest economy in the world at the moment?

There is also a 'sense of entitlement' to contend with, it's not all haves, and have nots.

Last summer I had a run in with a cyclist. I reminded him that giving signals on the road was not just for car drivers. He started effing and blinding and trying to chase the car. I parked up outside my house, and he stopped 20 yards away still shouting the odds, and calling me a liar.

I invited him to come and look at my dashcam to prove it, he declined and threatened us by saying that he knew where we lived. This annoyed me, I walked over to him, at which point he hit me. I 'defended' myself, and left him sat on the road telling him that he'd just been battered by his grandad.

He ran to the Police to try and say that I'd assaulted him,but I'd already reported his behaviour as I suspected what he would try.

Over the next couple of months he keyed my car 4 times, all on my high quality CCTV system. Oh how he was surprised when the Police turned up at his address 6.30 one morning to arrest him in front of his wife (who knew nothing). He ended up paying a large repair bill, and having 5 criminal convictions. This guy is teacher of some sort apparently, so that's going to look great when he tries to get his next clearance to work !

All for his 'cyclists sense of entitlement', even though he was completely in the wrong in the first place !

Point is the UK isn't broke, there's plenty of money. Yet too many in poverty, on low wages, paying massive rents, an underfunded health service, sky-high train fares and so on.

I think the point being made might have been we're not broke just appalling governed for the benefit of a few not the.many.

Or maybe blame the generation that's actually in power and been running the place?
You can see with your own eyes (surely) that we, as a nation, don’t give a fuck.. You can blame the tories but there’s no hope when somebody will go to a McDonalds, sit in the car then dump their shit out of all 4 windows when they are a few feet from a bin.. We’re a nation of fucking scrotes

I've reread this twice now and there's no mention of him getting his windows bricked or his bike torched...
