Cristiano Ronaldo - not City

Is this another "real madrid player wants new contact so stir up rumour about leaving to mancity?"

Ronaldo doesn't guarantee success; one Liga title and a Champions League for Real in 5 years, and he was shite in the Euro final for them and then celebrated his pointless goal (as many of his tally a season actually are) as if he'd won it on his own.

He's in decline, and most importantly would probably make Aguero consider his options; as he gets older and less mobile, Ronaldo will begin shooting from absolutely everywhere (which he practically does already) and Kun will spend more time dodging his shots than receiving passes from him. He's so far resisted the temptation of a move back to Spain, but that prospect would surely be a game changer for him.

Isco or Bale would be my preferred options from Real, but we need to rebuild the team; throwing big money at a big player isn't the solution. We need to add a few 7/10 every week performers to the defence and midfield before we can look towards a marquee signing, and even that should be a cautious process.

Aguero should be flanked by talented but industrious players next season, who give the opposition something else to think about, who can score goals and play for the team; Pedro and Sterling would be ideal, the former having already played that role with the greatest player in history for arguably the greatest club team in history, and the latter's application to the team cause at Liverpool playing at fullback is testament to his compatibility with our 'holistic' ideology' Kun has earned the right to be our star man, not be compromised by an ageing whore who looks disgusted when a teammate scores.

I think this is a brilliant post and not only because it tally's with my feelings on the man. The last sentence is so disgustingly true it is almost rude to say it. A man who actually see's his arse if all the adoration is not aimed at him all the time. I really would cross the road to avoid being so rude as to tell a stranger for all intents and purposes his values are all i find shit in a man. I do not hate him as such, i detest his values that he displays as a footballer. However it means their is a 99% chance he is a wanker of the pitch also.

Sorry for that rant...
Ok yeah i also agree with your highlighting the obvious (to me) hassle it will cause. Aguero is the main man and Ronaldo coming would not change that for me, nor should it the playing tactics and style (for one player, unless it was messi). If in practice your scenario occurred (very likely) i would be so disappointed in our club as to stick such a cog in our machine.

Younger fans of the club or those who have started supporting where the culture is less involved may think "give it a bash" and i can see why they think that. He is famous and markets himself to kids and those who may buy his tat very well.
Not all, some of those raised in and around footy locally for example may want him also but i can't see the majority wanting him though. I could be wrong but doubt it. Most see past the blinding pr and hysteria i think and see the less positive side. Most of which the quoted post from .A. has noted.

Sometimes you can't see anything but trouble ahead and with him that is all i see.

I do mate i think i do xD

I just can't think anything else about someone who actually see's their arse because a team mate scored, not the oppo, your own team xD
It is so far beyond me i can't begin to comprehend how egotistical you must be for that.

The sort of cockspit that would have a mirror custom made with his own "love" in it to "aide his zen and self balance" or some other sickeningly wankerish bollocks. Oh his "love" would be a drop of sweat he collected after his hat trick against some already beaten sods.

I know Balo was a pain but he is a good man and Ronaldo probably is.You get the impression though unlike Balo who would take you to hospital himself Ronaldo would reverse over you for getting your blood on his bumper if he hit you in his car.

Another top drawer post A, sums him up perfectly, spot on about Aguero aswell.

What do you think of Txiki so far?

I see all these in-depth posts as to why we should buy him

I see all these in-depth posts as to why we shouldn't buy him

imo the guys an absolute **** , and would set us back team spirit wise , his greedy me me me attitude, his plastic fucking posing , he would turn us into a fucking Ronaldo circus , I don't give a fuck how good he is ,a big no from me because he's a **** .

Ronaldo in a city shirt would disgust me ,I would rather have rooney and that is saying something

It would be a huge sum of money for a player we would get little return on.

Ronaldo might draw a crowd, he might increase sponsorship but he doesn’t have a lot of time left in the game in my opinion. I think Messi could play for years because you could stick him as a deep lying playmaker and he would still be unstoppable – it’s what we tried to do with him at the Nou Camp – force him to drop deep and keep him away from goal – he still created tens of chances for his side because his passing ability is so good.

Ronaldo doesn’t have the mentality or attitude to do that for me. It’s his arrogance that makes him the player he is so you can’t fault him for it. Put simply, Messi is a better player with a better attitude but Ronaldo’s had to use his arrogance and channel it to make him who he is. You can’t deny he’s a brilliant player but you can question for how long he will remain as good… and how worthwhile it would be to buy him.

In my opinion our squad is ageing but we have Hart, Kompany, Silva, Aguero who can play for a good few years longer. Yaya is a player we need to replace and we need to add quality, youth and desire. To do that we need to spend big on younger players that have the quality, power and pace to bring the best out of our side. We have players good enough to remain in our squad and have potential academy players that can bolster it over the coming seasons. We need to be buying players as they are peaking or before, not when they are starting to age/decline. That’s not what Real, Bayern or Barca do so we shouldn’t either. It’s fine to supplement the squad but we need to target our first 11 this summer. The likes of Fernandinho and Demichelis have been very successful signings but we now have a squad with very few assets financially and I think that is dangerous with FFP.

I totally understand the resentment towards his signing, but he's a freak of nature, he really is.

A wonderful trainer and physical specimen, who could certainly make a huge impact for two or three seasons.

Much of the resentment is towards his character traits, but his football is still at level only below that of Messi.

I hated Craig Bellamy with a passion, a grade A twot. You know what, when he came to us, he dragged that malaise out of us, he was a twot, but our twot.

He was a winner, and he demanded the very best of those around him - Robinho was quickly sussed.

Rather than see some of our players wilt, I think the likes of Aguero and Silva would allow them to elevate their games once more.

Sometimes it's not about relevancy, it's about perception. The club has lost some of its vibrancy as a team in the last couple of years, to the outside eye.

I really can't see a downside to having someone who will put bums on seats, have people out of their seats, and also pays for himself in a commercial sense.

City have put so much effort into Messi over the last couple of years, but if he does intend to stay put, then this is another signing which does stop the footballing world for a few seconds.

I don't think for a second Ronaldo gives a toss about upsetting United fans. He's a pound note man. And if there were hundreds of millions of dollars to follow that up with in NYC, he would certainly think twice.

Didn't that clown al Fahim state Ronaldo was Shiekh Mansour's favourite player?

Would love it, for all of the above, plus the meltdown, elsewhere!

Winners go home and F**k the prom queen.

And no, I am not hinting.

I agree with all of this! I was the same with Bellamy I absolutely hated him at other clubs but when he joined us and you saw his desire you immediately bought in to what he brought the team. Ronaldo is not a player I like personally but he is a beast of a footballer and proven in the Premier League with the rags! Since he left them he has only gotten better and the way he looks after himself he will be in great shape for another 3-4 years when I'm sure they will have an eye on him being the big star for NYCFC.

Ronaldo is a winner, he always looks up for every game. Yes he shoots a lot but how many times have you watched City try and walk it in and you are screaming at someone to take a shot from outside the box? Something only Yaya has ever really done for us in years (I don't count Kolarov as he is more likely to worry a corner flag than the back of the net!) I think if we were playing a 3 up front with him left Aguero centre and hopefully Sterling right that would make us very dangerous both at home and abroad.

After watching a petulant and rather chubby Nasri just kick out at Neymar because he basically couldn't keep up with the speed of the game and the opposition its time to bring in some speed and power to the way we play and Ronaldo has all those things. Yes he is a kn0b! (warming up for matches in big bling bling diamond earrings is just cringingly bad for a 30 year old man!) but he I support the badge on the shirt of the eleven men on the field and if he can take us to another level than I am all in for Ronaldo coming to City.

Bellamy and Ronaldo are not even remotely similar types of attitudes. Bellamy was a twat because he demanded that everyone work as hard as he did, in order to get the best out of the team, a bit like Roy Keane. Yes, that results in you rubbing people up the wrong way and losing the plot at times and going way beyond what's acceptable, but the main thing is that you are driven by wanting what's best for the team, even if you sometimes go about it the wrong way.

Tranny isn't that player at all. He's not driven by what's best for the team at all, he's driven by what's best for him. He works incredibly hard for himself, but not hard for the team. He's a bad apple, who only gets away with it due to his talent, it is not an attitude you'd want in your team at all imo.

As for if he'd join us, I doubt it. Not due to any loyalty to the rags, but because it would hurt his brand. Moving to us would lose him legions of rag fanboys and not get him even close to that amount of new fans, so I can't see him wanting to do it. I don't think there has been a player who has worked as hard on his image, branding and propoganda as Tranny, so I can only imagine that it would play a huge part in his decisions.

I can see the logic yeah, i dunno though. It just seems so counter productive to sort the staff out and then bring one of the biggest boat rockers in.
When i saw that docu on Barca Txiki seemed to me a man who knew what he wanted and he could not give a hoot about name or reputation.

Tolmie does make valid points however i feel the circumstances are different enough between Bellers and Ronaldo.
We really are mixing it at the top now, not aiming to get to it. We needed Bellamy and yeah Ronaldo may do the same but these are experienced title winners now, not youngsters wanting to make a name for themselves. With that i doubt some would tolerate him.
I would put cash on it Zabba detests him and a Kompany also at least. I also doubt Kun would put up with seeing the ball fly past him at a 100mph every single fucking time dickhead got the ball. He would cause a right fucking ding dong i reckon. Not a Bellamy ding dong either a 100% destructive one.

Oh dear Ronaldo may damage team spirit. Which team spirit might he destroy, the strolling around the pitch losing v burnley spirit, the having so little confidence out captain gets dropped spirit, the strikers couldn't score in a brothel spirit, the where's my birthday cake spirit or the I am going to leave on a free to join a rival spirit.

As far as I'm concerned he can come in and upset all those team spirits!!!

Class player, but of a wanker but not even 10% of the wanker Tevez was, not declining - fit as fuck and will be great till past 35! But above all he would be a commercial gold mine for city and take us up a level for Trixi and the sheikh it would be a no brainier!

I am watching a side at the moment that looks destroyed, going backwards, lacking spirit and heading for our worst finish in years ! What exactly would he come in and damage? Him coming would make signing quality like Pogba more likely too

That's even more reason to put good characters in there, not worse ones. I don't see the logic at all in what you're saying. We have no team spirit, so instead of trying to improve it, lets make it even worse?

Totally agree more positives than negatives if we buy him..

Did someone really say all Bellemy only wanted what's best for the team? like twatting Rise with a golf club or shitting out a tackle at home to Spurs that resulted in a goal, then after the match he was fawning all over Redknapp on the pitch.
