Not sure if it's been mentioned or not because I haven't read the thread for ages, but that Gilly Ballbag fella was just on talkshite and mentioned that Spains tax laws change next year, and Ronaldo will need to double his money just to earn what he's earning now.
It's all about his wages and nothing more.

I dont think Silva will be going anywhere then.

It does not matter with Silva because is he a Spanish citizen, he will remain on the base rate tax players are on at the moment.

It is the Beckham law Spain are scapping, it is what is enabling foreign players to be taxed the same as Spanish players.

What a user. What many predicted.

The Mirror says that Ferguson has told the Rag board to break the bank to sign him up. Maybe that's simply to prevent us from doing so. What a load of cobblers.

Another problem for Real is the abolition of the so-called ‘Beckham Law’, under which they agreed to pay Ronaldo £8m a year net, with the club meeting his 24 per cent tax obligation. Ronaldo’s current contract still benefits from the ‘Beckham Law’. But any new contract would, from 2015, be subject to a 52 per cent tax.

Paying Ronaldo his £8m a year has been costing the club just under £10m a season. Now, by giving in to his 30 per cent pay increase demands, his new £10.35m take home pay would see them shelling out more than £20m a season.

So all this about us paying extreme wages despite other PL players on same/higher ie Rooney, Madrid are paying around £400k a week on Ronaldo. Just something to remember incase they start talking about "history" and "money" before our CL game

I can assure you all that anything blurted out by ChinaDaily is a far cry away from reality. This 'news' distributor bangs out all sorts of Communist Party drivel, propaganda and the like, being that it is funded by the CCP, making Murdoch look like a wet dream in terms of freedom of the press and accurate reporting. Ronaldo will not be going to China.

they don't, they're paying 10m with taxes included. that's just little bit over 200k.

If he signs new contract with his wanted 30% increase and with new taxes in charge, then it would be 20m or 400k+.

It would be the perfect op for him to do a pele. Score 100+ goals a season in a shit league and then claim to be the greatest ever ( minus the int. sucess)

We have denied interest in him which i don't understand

He's a rag but hes a world class footballer and they don't come around too often Mancini already he wants him in the summer but Marwood is no doubt stopping it!
