Cristiano Ronaldo

World class player, world renowned player and a dagger through the hearts of United.

Still I simply cannot ever see this happening. Proud rag and way too expensive. Neymar and Jovetic/Cavani instead should be targeted as they'd cost less than he would. Neymar is the guy they'd target if they sell him so why not break the bank for that lad instead?

-- Mon Dec 03, 2012 7:27 pm --

Less baggage but wouldn't make the global impact signing Ronaldo would. What better way to launch our new Nike kits then the face of Nike..

Give that man a Cigar!

Without doubt he would be the cherry on the owners cake,a marketing dream and the ultimate statement of intent (unobtainable Messi aside....) however, from a team perspective,i'd plump for the improving chimp.
Thing is he'd want all the image rights so its not like we would make a killing from him to pay back the fee. I agree Bale over him. Resale, cheaper and not a proud rag.

I actually think it'd be a PR disaster now. The fucking bile that would be written would make the paper acidic to the extremes of ph1.

We could always get the tissues out and imagine us going for both?

This Summer is going to be a interesting one that's for sure, Hopefully more interesting than the last one!

I'm only hoping mate, with the two ex braca men here I'm hoping for bigger things than Scott Sinclare!

Indeed for various reasons:

Failure in CL
Soriano and Tixi first summer let loose on the market
Nike launch
IF we fail to win the League we could have a new manager
Players moving on that'll need replacing

These to name a few

And the inflated wage packets of Kolo, Bridge, Santa Cruz, and Michael Johnson off the books. Hopefully the club learns its lesson and pay incoming players more modest wages unless they are big stars. By now we should have more than money to attract players with, especially young hungry ones like Isco.

So no significant player signings in January then?

Are you suggesting Ronaldo in January? sadly I think we won't sign any big name player with no CL football..

Unwise investment with Tranny approaching 28. Neymar is much younger and will probably cost less.

True but Ronaldo has proven himself in two of the best leagues in the world where as Neymar is only proven in brazil. Not saying he couldn't cope with the Premier League just saying he's a much bigger risk.

And we need experience right for the Champion's League, not risk potential. 28 is the prime of his career look at the rags Giggs and Scholes still going ten years later..

It's like they don't listen we have said we are not going spend big and don't think Ronaldo would won't to come back to the premier anyway

If Ronaldo was available we would without doubt be in for him. The cost doesn't really matter, you get most of it back commercially and as much as he's a massive **** he's the second best player in the world.

Really? Just can't see us paying over 60m+ for a player

Until we break even I just cannot see it as well.

Real Madrid have had the best of Ronaldo's commercial value anyway, players like Neymar are the upcoming marketing superstars.
